It's not a great value by itself but I gave my old Xbox One to my friend as a gift and bought an Elite console so it came with the controller.
I don't think I've ever used it as anything but a "regular" controller (so default sticks, no paddles, and the plus d-pad). I was going to try using it with the paddles as a Killer Instinct controller, though.
