Tips on barbarian class on this game?
Just starting out, level 29. Fucking act 1 is taking a long time and I hear the other two acts take even longer.
The leveling system is good for my add. A random grabbag of ability changes every level up.
I don't know what stat is best, but right now I'm using a 2H sword and doing a crit build. I enjoy the big hits plus the whirlwind fucking cheats because it hits so fast. Builds up crits to spam the overload skill.
Overall having fun. The Templar has been a better follower than the scoundrel though.

Stack crit and main stat, get one of your class's sets, and use the skills that set buffs, just like every single other player in the game.
Then, uninstall and play Path of Exile instead.

bought the game and i might have hit a bad button and i had to start the story over. But still kept the templar and all my levels and loot.

I havent played a barb in this season, and just havent played in a while, so I dont know whats good, most early-mid builds revolve entirely around some basic set though, so you will need abilities and item stats that work well with that set
for example with a thornsader you want as much thorns and tankiness as you can get, but really dont need shit like attack speed or critical chance/dmg

There is no build when leveling up. You just use whatever is the best weapon you find, and use the skills that work with it/that you find fun to use.

If you're level 29 you should have finished the shitty fucking story mode and moved on to seasonal adventure mode. Do rifts and you'll hit 70 in a couple of hours. After that you get a free set for doing nothing and be fully geared in every other slot in another day or so. Then you'll uninstall game because of fucking boring it is.

Also, just a reminder: Disgaea games let you do billions of damage ironically because they are parodying the sometimes ridiculous mechanics of RPGs. Diablo 3 completely unironically has you doing billions of damage.

Not really. The dialogue is absolutely horrific and the atmosphere is completely killed by having the villains show up to taunt you like bad guys in a cartoon every 5 minutes. The story really is absolutely, unbelievably intolerable.

People don't rush through the story, they just don't play it anymore because doing rifts/bounties in adventure is both more fun and just better for leveling and grinding. Most of the people don't even level up characters anymore, they powerboost to 70 in 10-20 minutes with their friends

You can probably ask someone in the public chat to poweboost you when you're done with the story, since, as one anon pointed out, level is just a skill/gear gate, nothing more. Your 67 gear is worthless compared to level 70 one, don't expect that finding out legendaries on levels below 70 will help you (aside from Kanai cubing an all items below 70 levels are unoptimal and would likely be switched within several rifts on level 70). And the difference between good level 70 gear and bad level 70 gear is much more apparent than the difference between level 1 gear and level 70 one.

You cant really invite level 1 to your X game actually. So you have to drop your game to VI just to level up someone. That means you get a lot less exp and loot overall.

Because D3 is balanced around numbers, at some point you hit the ceiling and everything in the game becomes a giant one-shotting hp sponge. This initially was Act2 Inferno.
However, since Blizzard decided to try to salvage D3 but still not fundamentally change anything, they had to introduce more room by stretching the numbers out further. So Act2 Inferno's numbers were made to seem smaller, and the point where everything breaks became T6. And then they had to "fix sets" and needed more space, so they made that T10. All this time the numbers became bigger and bigger, while effectively no real changes were being made.
This is the only way neo-Blizzard knows how to "make" games, which results in things like D3.
