GoW doesn't even feel soulless or generic at all, really. It's not anything exceptional but it has an established identity.
Now this thing on the other hand is the most soulless game I've ever played. I'm almost positive it was designed exclusively by corporate execs and focus groups to ensure a maximum profit margin.
And then it tanked so hard it bankrupted a US state, kek.

Wasn't made by From.

No it doesn't feel generic, it feels soulless. Like it has no internal value, no spirit or game defining liberty. I wouldn't say it looks generic, the designs are very good, but ultimately, it feels empty, and just heartless.
Nah, gow had a lot of great moments, it was never the best hack n slash out there, but it was really fun.

It still feels like someone painted a picture of a white canvas and called it a good video game.
>soulless
Nice buzzword

Are you trying to catch every /v/ buzzword in a single post? I could understand if the combat system was too simply for you, if the qtes were annoying, or if the boss battles were too easy.
But spirit? heartless? Its a video game about killing huge ass monsters and fucking bitches, nothing more.

I think this is why I couldn't like it. It just feels so empty.
it was a hack and slash action game released during the twilight years of the PS2's life cycle. Honestly, it's a pretty fun game to just kill shit and turn off your brain.
GoW was never meant to be deep or challenging. I agree that everything after GoW2 does not have the same "soul".

Because you hate fun.
>>333799983
Because you kill everything in it, including deities.

What is soul less?
This post is just full of empty meme words in itself.
I loved the first two games but they do feel dated now, but still it's a game of spectacle. It's all about the 'epic' scale of things, you're essentially a God of beating up other gods to an orchestral soundtrack whilst you stomp over literal giants and wipe away armies like ants. I would say that is the inherent soul of the game, whatever soul means.
