Yes. Level and equipment gap makes PvP battle one-sided, thus rewarding no-life gamers whom sucks in reality and desperately needs a tunnel to satisfy their self esteem.

South Korea is a horrible place. They have no resources or industry besides education and sciences, so their entire society is built towards ridiculous amounts of studying and training. Your entire life is determined by exam results, including your marriage prospects, to the point where everyone is a nerd and just getting top marks isn't enough to get a good job in a competitive market- it's expected you'll get plastic surgery to make yourself look perfect too. The result is that Korea has a ridiculously high suicide rate and the entire gaming community prefers joyless grinding because it lets them zone out from all the stress they deal with.

Also Koreans are super xenophobic and racial purity is very high. Oh, and they have a crazy neighbor with tons of weapons and not a lot of sense that keeps them up at night.
