I think it looks great, bu I really want them to go back to the Napishtim/Felghana/Origin style.

It is, but don't feel discouraged if you struggle getting through it or don't have a lot of fun. It's aged, but it has its charm. Use a guide if you feel like it. I and II are very different from the rest of the main games.

If they go by the same formula, then the next game should be built on a new engine.

I have. It's shitbecause i have big hands and must play in small touch screen in a game that need a very dynamic movement.
Not to mention it's very uncomfortable after a while because your phone start heating up.
I didn't enjoy 7 or Celcetta so sadly I don't have high hopes for VIII
It really sucks because a few of the other Ys games are some of my favorite games ever
I played and loved Felghana and Origin, is VI good too? I hear it has the same engine
