I really like instance-based gameplay (which is why DFO is the only MMO I've enjoyed), and there's got to be more out there.

wow: if you dont have anyone to play with its the most boring game ever. This games treadmill is so absolutely boring you cant help but contemplate suicide if you're playing alone.
ffxiv: the slowest, most boring combat ever dreamed. Imagine the classic ff rpgs, but you only control one character, and it takes you ten years to use one ability. Raids are pretty meh, pvp total shit.
tera: Typical korean grind, content patches once every century, the most elitist players you will find anywhere, worse class balance than wow, and thats saying something
warframe: currently the grindiest game on the market, be prepared to run the same missions literally thousands of times.

BDO is the worst designed and most poorly executed MMO I've ever seen. If you REALLY want to give it a go, find a trial key and don't give those incompetent gooks any more money.
Wildstar is dead as fuck but free. It definitely has potential to be decent for you.
ESO also has potential to be what you're looking for. Not sure if any trial system exists for that.
Out of the three you listed, ESO is probably the best.

Black Desert has a scummy business practice going on, with an entry fee and then a cash shop. The cash shop sells a ton of convenience items to circumvent most of the annoying shit in the game. It also sells pets that grant you stat boosts and costumes with set bonuses like hiding your name in pvp, making you hard to spot in the world.
BDO really has no real endgame, it tries to be like EVE and have a sandbox with to let players make their own fun but offers no tools to let players work towards something greater. The game also likes to boast about your ability to grind while afk, because why buy a game to play it?
Wildstar just feels... off somehow. It is difficult to articulate but everything just feels wrong. Functionally it works fine, world design can even be quite nice with it's gimicks like anti grav and such. The game however is utterly dead as all fuck, even going F2P couldn't save it. It is also horrifically optimised with some issues like the UI having a memory leak never being fixed from open beta.
ESO is basically skyrim but even more shallow.
Black Desert Online is good, casual fun.
