Digital is objectively better.
Physical collection faggots and third-worlders with shitty download speeds are the only ones who will argue in favor of physical. They are holding the industry back.

Not even third worlders anymore, it's much easier and cheaper to buy digital games thanks ti weak currecy and high shipping costa.
>>
>>333735524
I get what the argument means tho.

I mean digital is fine I guess. PC games end up being steam codes even if you buy a disc and most console games are nice when it comes to whatever DRM rules they have. I would only disagree for shit like Nintendo where it's tied to your fucking console and you have to system transfer just to move it. Shit's fucking stupid. Also when digital versions cost the same or more than physical. You're not manufacturing or shipping anything physical nor are you selling it at various different retailers, cut the price a bit you cheap fucks.

Digital on PC, physical on consoles
>>
Unless a console comes out with the ability to store multiple discs in it at once so I don't have to swap discs all the time, I prefer digital.
>>
If I've pirated a game to try it out I'll usually buy a physical version, but most of the time I buy the cheapest option. But I like physical editions with extra stuff in it or steelboxes etc.
>>
digital sometimes is cheaper. but i hate when sometimes get delisted like the marvel fighting games 360
>>
For new games I gotta have or games I might resell later I always go physical. Otherwise usually wait for a deal on digital.

Physical for consoles and handhelds, I like actually owning my games.

Digital for PC since the inherent value of PC games is lower than on consoles and I never buy games at full price. Not to mention I don't have much invested in my Steam account so when the service eventually shuts down I won't give that much of a fuck.

In all honesty, it's partially my shitty internet. That being said, most of my PC games are DD, but if I buy a console I'm going to take advantage of the availability of physical. 500 GB isn't that much space when downloading all of your new games and I dislike the concept of my games being "owned" through a corporation's service with no option to pirate should I get fucked over.

Physical on console/handhelds 99% of the time, I pirate on PC because physical either doesn't exist, is missing half the game files or is just a fucking Steam code. I fucking HATE Steam.

>>333735769
No advantages to digital beyond convenience. You're paying the same for less, publishers just make more money when you buy digitally. None of the costs saved are passed down to the end-consumers, games are still $60 at launch + DLC/whatever bullshit they're pulling.

retards tell arab and russian hackers their password in chat when they promise them free hacks or whatever. Its not "proper" hacking if tht is what you mean but this is super common as loads of people are 100% retarded. Proper hacking is probably very rare. Scenarios that might or might not happen are steam's database for users AND passwords get stolen and then decrypted (very unlikely) or someone has the same password for all his shit and someone resets his account or guesses his password. Much easier and probably way is to set up a forum or something for cheats and let people register to sign up. Then check stuff like gmail for the same email they signed up with and the password they used to sign up with on your own site.

What I mean is, specifically Dark Souls 3, is available for double digits discounts on multiple websites for PC, while the PSN has it for full price. He might as well buy it physical then and get his extra $15 worth out of it.

>>
>>333739075
Physical on console? Dark souls deluxe edition is about 60 dollars for PC if you buy a key from fishy sites. Not sure about regular version but I think something like 45 bucks or even less maybe. Where is the discount though? You are buying a key there not a regular game with % on it. Or am I missing something and they have put a game that is not even out here on a sale? Which would be very weird.
>>
>>333735524
Physical

After getting screwed over by games being removed, patched out or gimped I made my choice.

best example I can give is the whole GTA on steam shit that happened.
>>
>>333739287
Yes, physical on PS4. No point in buying physical on PC because you'll probably get a better deal on a key and the physical box will only contain a key and an installation disc anyways.
>Where is the discount though?
If you're talking about keys being overpriced, I agree, I don't think a download key should be the same price as a physical copy of a game, no matter the platform, but it's sadly the way that most distributors work. So in the end $15 off is a nice discount compared to the competition.

Always digital for PC. Even if it wasn't the only option for most games.

Just not interested in having a box, and call me a DRM-cuck or whatever buzzword the kids these days use but I like the service Steam offers.
>HDD could literally melt into a puddle but I'd still have my games
>don't have to be online

>client is light on resources
>can refund and share games now
>don't have to buy an optical drive

>>
>>333735524
Physical on consoles always. I only buy digital on PC and even then I won't buy most of the time unless it's $30 or less.
>>
>>333739543
No I meant where do you see a discount on PC? Are you talking about PC keys being cheaper? I do not consider that a discount as its not the same thing. I think we are agreein with each other but lost in translation/semantics/etc.

But both are physical and both are digital.
>>
>>333739570
They replaced the PC version on Steam with the mobile version shit. Gimped controls and 1/3 of soundtracks removed due to licensing.

So when you install it on steam, you get the latest version, not like you install base and decide not get patches. You literally get an inferior product than what you paid and added to your library few years ago.
>>
I don't care about physical products anymore. It's nice to have, but I'll just store it away somewhere and never see it again. Buying digital is more convenient and cheaper.
>>
>>333738282

>>
>>333735524

>>
>>333739663
I think it might just be lost in translation too, what I mean is that buying a digital PS4 game costs the same as just buying a boxed disc for that same system; PC however can be a lot cheaper due to the amount of options available for distribution.
>PS4 via PSN=$60
>PS4 via Physical=$60
>PC via Steam Store=$60
>PC via key websites for Steam=$45-$50
>>
>>333739940
GTA: San Andreas.

No more 1080p as they removed resolution options and over 15 tracks removed. This was coincided with the mobile version releases. Actually a 360 HD release, which was basically the Android version with 360 support, that then replaced the PC Steam version.
>>

>>
>>333740147
Ok I see. I think actually more often than not new ps4 games cost 65 or 70 euros here already while PC games cost 45-55 euros. I noticed the same on steam as well as for gamestop, local stores, amazon and so on. SO PC even without key sellers is already cheaper by default by usually 10 or 15 bucks, with keys it usually costs half its console price here in yurop. I wish my pc would not be a toaster, oh well. Might eventually upgrade and save some money by just pirating everything. On the other hand I only bought 2 non exclusives for ps4 so far so not a lot of money lost so far.

Joe Cocker - Woman to Woman

K-JAH West Radio
Black Harmony - Don’t Let It Go to Your Head
Blood Sisters - Ring My Bell

Radio:X
Ozzy Osbourne - Hellraiser
Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the Name

Master Sounds 98.3
Charles Wright - Express Yourself
The Blackbyrds - Rock Creek Park
James Brown - Funky President
Macer & The Macks - Soul Power ‘74

What I was referring to is the fact that when you buy physical copy of a game, then it's yours, you can do whatever you want with that copy, in 20 years if you still have working hardware, and the developer didn't use some shitty always-online DRM, you will most likely be able to play the title (although it may be shit without day-one patch)...

With digital it's different. You don't actually buy game, you buy the license to download it from the provider, whichever it may be - Steam / PSN / Origin etc. There are exceptions (like GoG), but most people when talking about digital libraries, refer to Steam. And here you don't buy games, you buy licenses. In 20 years, if by some chance the provider goes down you're left with nothing.
>>
>>333735524
Both for my favorite games. Otherwise physical.
>>
>>333743019
When you buy a physical copy, you do not own it. You own a licence to it just like digital media. Though it is true it would be significantly harder to revoke the license.
