You don't have platinums, but doing 1000/1000 (or whatever the score is for [x] game) is essentially the same thing, and the actual platinum trophy is still included as an achievement on Xbox versions as a "get all other achievements" one
I think achievements/trophies are still a cool extra thing, yeah, and still try for them. Obviously there's a lot of shitty ones but stuff like the Mirror's Edge "go through the game without shooting anyone", ones that give you a proper challenge across the course of the game are pretty cool

Usually my first playthrough is "natural" - I just play the game as it goes, unlocking some trophies, and generally enjoying the title.
Once I finish my first playthrough I check how much more would I have to play to get platinum - if I don't have to grind for days, and the game was fun enough, I'll try to plat it.However, I'm not really a trophy hunter, I won't go out of my way just to platinum mediocre game, I also won't play the game just to get trophies, if it's not fun anymore.
Currently doing DOAX3, the game is grindy but the volleyball part is actually fun as fuck, also addicting.Also, most of the E/F ranked games in pic are the ones I actually haven't really played yet - just turned on for few minutes.

W_D was a gift.
FIFA because I get one football game a generation when they're dirt cheap since I played them as a kid on the N64.
TLOU because I didn't play it on PS3 and it looked good, enjoyed it a lot.
I got a Platinum Trophy in Fallout 3 and it pretty much ruined the game for me because I pretty much did everything possible in the game and now it has become a boring afterthought.

I like them when they encourage you to try things you normally wouldn't. But since both Sony and MS require games to have a certain amount most of them end up as filler; Complete Chapter 1, Complete Chapter 2, etc.
Even the "Kill X amount of enemies with Y weapon" ones are better because they encourage you to use and learn a weapon you might not have used otherwise. So you might end up finding a weapon that you thought sucked at first is actually a lot better than some of the "good" weapons if used right. And if you get caught in a situation where you only have those "bad" weapons well thanks to what you learned while getting that trophy/achievement you'll hopefully know how to make the best of it.

longest is just playing the game normally and finishing all the quest, not that it's all that long depending on how you play (lot of people procrastinate a lot in early game to get better mons ASAP, which inflates the timer)
after the annoying part comes where you need to collect medals which is is mostly RNG from gacha machines, at least you don't really need to pay attention and can get most of them while just mashing a button and switching machine now and then

Dragons Crown has you level up your characters to 255 and there are six of them.
Why do that and repeat the game over and over when you can stop at 99 when the game hands you the final trophy/ achievement?
I'm just saying that when a game doesn't give you any more achievements these days there probably is no more content ahead. Even games like CoD had Prestige mode and shit. CS:GO and fighters have rankings. Its like you don't want to be at the top and/ or play until there's nothing left to do.

They all have their pros and cons. I liked how on 360 it put all your 100% into a completed games section on the dashboard. The downside is it doesn't have stat tracking and platinum.
For playstation stat tracking is awesome but gets fucked up by people who use save editors to 100% games. Also it is kind of stupid that playstation has platinums but not every game gets a platinum. Games you have 100% won't match up with platinum trophies if you ever got all the trophies in a game without a platinum. Another thing they did right though was splitting the dlc into sections.
If you are playing on xbox and really care about stat tracking their are a number of sites that do that shit.
