Most current gen pokemon games have felt lacking in appropriate mood while fighting the champion. CHAMPION. You are fighting the best trainer in the world. I want to feel like I'm always one mistake away from losing, like everything I've worked toward can be squashed by their little finger and followed up with a feeling of inferiority. Gen 1, 2, and 4 will always have the greatest soundtracks because it played to the mood of the situation.
