Written like a true poorfag. There's nothing destructive by giving developers the choice to exploit technology. This gives them far more freedom when making games. Back in the 90's when there was a difference between a PC and console PC developers kept pushing the boundaries further and further. But then when Microsoft game with their Shitbox which was just a gimped PC then everything started to go to shit. All the big wigs turned their eyes on consoles because development costs normalized and weren't as haphazard as they were in the 90's. The age of check list design and development began and it has since then been a thing since developers need to make games that work on hardware that's a decade old when it hits the markets in the form of a shitty "new" console.
The indie game market is a real threat to PC gaming though, and Valve is doing nothing to help it. They don't care, they get a cut from each shitty game sold.
