you could try guild wars if you don't mind p2w and every class using a sword/gun.

This is the video game equivalent of watching Seinfeld reruns well into the late 00's.

Personally OP, same problem I've tried Warframe and Blade and Soul.
>Waframe: A bit like destiny, fighting was meh felt kinda single player for multiple reasons.
>Blade and Soul: PvP is enjoyable frantic and with a decent skill curve, PvE is fucking dumb. Korean MMO so fucking ridiculous cash shop but it doesn't seem inherently broken (just lots of cosmetics, some item upgrades).

this
the genre is dead
enjoy your mobas and overwatch-style shooter games out the ass
Warframe and Final Fantasy 14.
FF XIV or nothing
Star Trek Online might be a good fit. Combat both in space and on away missions are both different enough from typical MMO fare that you'll have plenty of game crunch to learn. Loads of character customization-for your captain, bridge crew, and ships-as well as player created content and various PvP modes, help to break up a sense of grind. Obviously bonus points if you like Trek, but that's not really required.
It's free now, so give it a shot. Be prepared to do your own online research on the various leveling systems and skill learning mechanics, as there are a lot and aren't explained very well in the game itself.
