Brits had very very thin lines, usually only 2 men deep, and very long as a result. This made them a lot less exposed to artillery and volley fire.
If a lucky cannon shot hits an English line, it kills 2 men. If a lucky cannon shot hits a French column, it could kill dozens.

I remember a Cav vs. Inf RP a few weeks ago where french were cav and inf were brits. The cav kept destroying the Inf so we backed up against the edge of the map and built there. The admins and french Cav got really butthurt since they couldnt circle around us and made the inf charge even though that makes no sense.

psst... On a related note, why are the only skilled players with the cav regiments? You infantry fags suck. Talking about the EU side here. NA is an actual fucking joke though. I've never even seen a good NA player, and that's me with 120 ping and them with like 30 ping (North American server).
