Surfing has a lot more depth and freedom to it. Bhop just feels sort of tiring after a while. I still love bhopping though but I don't want to devote entire maps to it, really. Dunno why Valve removed it, gotta casualize it all nowadays I guess. You know CSGO doesn't even have sprays? What the heck.

once you are moving over 300ups or something close to that and hit the ground you are slowed down to 285ups. this is effectively a speed limit as you can gain speed again but you will just repeatedly retard down to 285 if you accelerate again. one failed jump and that's it over as well. movement in csgo is so butchered and watered down in the source engine and csgo in particular. it's really sad to see from an engine and series that reaped such benefits from it's idtech roots
