There are people browsing /v/ RIGHT NOW that refuse to adapt to the VR future.

Based Japan, making games that matter.

>>333641706

>>333642584
leap motion strapped to front of the occulus
>>333641706
Did you not see >Still listening to 8.8's opinion on the OP?
Wait, the Oculus has hand tracking?
>>333642167
You can with full body tracking + a silicone doll
The only problem is it still costs $5000+ and is complicated to set up
But this will be different in 2-3 years
>>333641706
So it's waggling 2.0?
VR is the next step
there's always people who refuse to accept the next step until they're using it without a second thought within 5 years, and they can't imagine life without it
Who /Dual4kScreenVRwith120FOVin2021/ here?
Look, Porn is one of the forefronts of human innovation.
People have been drawing pictures of nude figures since the dawn of civilization. Venus of Willendorf, anyone?
Porn was at the forefront of the internet. Porn was there before anything else. Porn can see VR is the future. Why didn't the kinect take off? No porn. Same with wagglan.
If I know anything is that I'd place bets with porn on what big innovations are coming up.
>>333645852
I'd be fine with the current res for a lower price
I just want higher res to replace my physical monitors
>>333641706
This video is the literal equivalent of buy 100 overpriced early-access indie games, playing them, saying they're shit (surprise!) and that means PC gaming sucks.
>>333646064
>>333646064
busting nuts is the only reason society developed
it's why men try so hard to be respected / powerful / rich, on the road to huge cumshots comes progress
science, art, engineering, politics all side effects of some dudes trying to drain their balls
>>333646686
>that means PC gaming sucks.
Which is true.
What's your point again?
>>333641706
>complains about headset being loose
>doesn't tighten headset to fix the problem
>still complains
these people are retards
>wave your arms in the air around like an idiot and feeling nothing
Looks like kinect with a monitor strapped to your face.
Why are people looking forward to this shit?
It still doesnt have any interesting games so I have no reason to purchase it.
>>333648937
muh waifu age
>>333645009
That white thing on the front is a leap motion
>>333641501
get a phone and and google cardboard
>>333649154
it comes with 3 free games. if you're gonna get it anyways, might as well get it now, you'll still pay $800 + $100 in shipping and taxes
>>333651946
What are those games?
>>333652092
tilt brush
fantastic contraption
job simulator
$110 value
>>333652663
I'm really sorry. Those seem more like tech demos than fully fledged games to me. I am not interested in those.
>>333641370
Remember the 90's when VR was the next big thing too? Well, no, YOU probably don't but I do.
>>333653330
Hol up, are you telling me that getting attacked by Dactyls ISN'T the future?
>>333653330
red wireframes weren't VR. this time around its more fleshed out. its either, 4k gaming to 8k gaming to 16k gaming or VR.
>>333641370
vr is a meme
it's just like 3d movies/tv circa 2010
>>333648716
>tightens the headset
>lose blood circulation and dies
THANKS, VIVE
>>333646686
>its like buying 100 overpriced indie games
That is LITERALLY all VR games are right now.
There are NO games worth buying VR for.
None.
>>333654871
Yes, obviously because a bunch of indie launch games suck, VR as an entire medium is a failure.
No good games can be made.
Fucking moron.
>>333655540
Well those good games you are hinting at arent here yet, so there is no need to buy the tech yet.
>>333641706
Yeah, they clearly went into this cynically and determined to not have fun from the outset
>>333654871
theres eve valkrie
subnautica
elite dangerous
plus other CURRENT games that are VR compatible. your argument is retarded
>>333655672
Yea, so being underaged works for you here. Keep it up.
>There are people browsing /v/ RIGHT NOW
Oh fuck
>>333641370
They'll learn their lesson soon, brother.
You can't deny the future.
>>333655817
So you are suggesting that you absolutely HAVE TO buy the tech now and let it gather dust while waiting for those games to arrive? Why not just buy the thing later when the games are already out?
>>333655783
>>333654871
Also The Gallery, Vanishing Realms, Hover Junkers, Arizona Sunshine, and Budget Cuts.
And anyway, complaining that VR games are short and expensive and therefore bad is like complaining that it costs more money to go to the movie theater than it does to listen to the radio, so why don't we all just listen to radio programs? You have no clue what you're talking about until you've actually tried it out, it's an entirely new content medium. Looking at a flat screenshot and going "hurr durr it looks cartoony" is fucking stupid, that's not what playing the game is actually like.
>>333656223
its funny because these people are probably the same people who buy all the new iphones but end up paying 200-300 over the actual price of the phone, which is like 600-700.
>>333655540
>Yes, obviously because a bunch of indie launch games suck, VR as an entire medium is a failure.
Uh yeah, VR was a failure from the starting line as far as games go. It's an expensive gimmick that'll capture a niche who will in tire of it quickly. VR is way too limited, the few good games that will be produced for it will probably experience poor sales because the majority people aren't going to bother with VR gaming.
VR only has a future in porn.
>>333656223
>buy $800 VR set
>$1500 for PC to run it
>and $5-$60 for each shitty mini game collection
You are a cuck.
>>333655817
>Yea, so being underaged works for you here.
Pot calling the kettle black.
You act like VR is something revolutionary. Give it another 10 years of disappointment and maybe you'll develop a sense to detect gimmicks.
>>333641370that guy has nice armpits....
>>333657404
>>$1500 for PC to run it
lol no. I can run just about every VR game fine on a 290, stop talking out your arse.
>>333657404
>implying I didn't have a gaming PC already
>implying I haven't already tried the Vive before I bought it and knew exactly what I'm getting into
>implying $800 is a large amount of money to me
stay mad
>>333657404
lol you dont already have a $1500 pc? you must be a xbone faggot.
>>333657716
>>333659174
>>333659680
Good goys.
>>333659814
it must suck to be poor
>>333641706
literal cherrypicking, anyone that watched the stream would know
>>333660201
I literally don't play games anymore. The industry is shit and I want nothing to do with it. You are a fucking faggot for supporting it. Acquire taste, and standards.
>>333647273
>cience, art, engineering, politics all side effects of some dudes trying to drain their balls
It's why i've stopped caring about humanity.
>>333660461
Not them, but.
>I literally don't play games anymore.
Then why the fuck are you here then? Just to shitpost?
Concider suicide, friend.
>>333660461
>thinks $1500 pc is only for games
lolol what are your hobbies then? dragon dildo collections and drinking your own piss?
>>333641370
no VR is the past, the future is having a public rentable gaming room where all walls are screens and small motion sensors attached to your body let you wander in a way that doesnt destroy your eyes or cause motion sickness
alternatively, putting you to sleep and connecting your brain directly to a controlled universe until GM plugs you out. The Matrix.
We're only in Phase 1 of VR.
>Phase1
Literally what we're seeing now
>Phase 2
Haptic clothing, gloves, and body sensors to stimulate touch.
>Phase 3
Last two combined along with Thought Interpretation built within the VR goggles, allowing us to quite literally move around without having to move a muscle. It'll feel similar to a dream state.
>Phase 4
The last 3 except without the goggles and suits, and far more dream like.
>Phase 5
The Matrix. Being placed in pods to live the live we've always dreampt about. Complete immersion to do as we please.
