I literally spent weeks playing this.

I made an empire stretching the entire Unlimited Expansion map, with a text document detailing the political and military structures of the tiny digital vikings living in my computer, and named each viking accordingly by title, rank, or simple relation.

It was the height of my autism.

No, but my dad originally bought it for himself. until I figured out how to use DOS.

Pretty sure it was the first game I ever played, at about age three. Doom was my second.
>>
>>333621045
Man, it looks much better than what I would have remembered. It's Wolf3D-style flat, right? I remember each level being something like a floor of a building.

I liked it as a kid. I can't get it to work on Windows 8 so I can't go back and see how it's held up.

fucking children

not getting Blake Stone for X-mas and then a week later Doom

fuck Doom for fucking over Blake Stone by releasing a week after and killing all the hype.
>>
>>333620506

Cultures is rad as fuck.

If I could have Dorf Fort with Cultures visuals and charm, I'd never need another game.

Yep. They were both pretty much the same style with Blake being more diverse in level and enemy design.

Oh shit nigga, fuggen Spectrobes. I liked it, too bad my DS was busted so I couldn't use one of the back buttons and one of the bosses required it.

Never seen this mentioned.

Can't even remember if it was any good, RTS games with proper controllable heroes are rare enough to give it a go though
>>
>>333623264
Is that some iteration of the Serious Engine?

Even though it's a pretty modern game with good graphics they only animate the characters mouths when they're talking. Makes everyone seem like some weird inhuman thing.

I onlt played that up to the first boss. The first game felt so clunky.

I actually beat the second one though.

I couldn't beat it, maybe it's time to get back to it. The idea was great, very real world pokemon-esque.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people played Outcast.

But how many of you played it with a joystick?
>>
>>
>>333627078
Never played that one. Worthwhile?
>>
>>333616815
As a kid this game scared me way more than Doom.
>>
>>333616815
That shit was absolutely THE next level back in the day.
You couldn't just run n gun through things. There were scientist you needed to find who would give you a card I believe, thing is if you found the wrong one he'd turn on you and if you killed the right one good luck.

The weapons, enemies and atmosphere really set it apart. Shame it hasn't seen shine like Doom and Wolfenstein

Pic related.

>>333616815
It was my first FPS, played it when I was 7. Cool game.
>>
>>333630036
Doom was already out when it was released. The fact it was still using the Wolf3D engine is the reason nobody gave a fuck about it at the time.
>>
>>333631662
Holy shit I didn't know they made a game about that book series.
>>

Blake Stone was the first shooter I ever played on my dad's old DOS. Had that along with Commander Keen, Hocus Pocus, Major Stryker, Paganitzu, and Duke Nukem 1 and 2.
>>
>>333632397
I actually learned about this game as a kid and I wanted to try it but I could never find a copy of it anywhere
>>
>>333632783
My copy is actually a brand new, perfect copy from an old Network Video store.
It never got rented, so they sold it to me for like $20 and I got the manual they kept under the counter.

The Eye of Judgement on PS3 was a gift from my mom. I tried it out, it was alright nothing special, it was clearly made to pander to the popularity of Yugioh
>>
Does anyone know the name of a game for SNES (and possibly Genesis) about a beat-em-up similar to Battletoads, but where you played as a qt witch and she had different outfits in each level?

It was really fun, but I think it was only in japanese.
>>
>>333632942
oh wow, maybe I will find a copy somewhere eventually. I am still curious how the game plays, it looks interesting as a skateboarding game with cartoon physics
>>
>>333632985
That game was fucking amazing

I'm pretty confident about this
>>
>>333633087
It plays almost identically to the classic Tony Hawk Pro Skater games, but on a GC controller.
And combos can be carried with cartoon physics in addition to classic tricks, which adds a layer of potential to the game. The maps are really pretty for a dated as fuck game.

>>333616815
played blake stone yesterday, got to the third floor on the first mission on the hardest difficulty before being gunned down
