I just played Origins for exactly the same reason.
It was... fun. Some parts of the story are pretty bland (the main quest requires completing elven, drawven, human and mage centric storylines.
But a lot of it pretty decently puts a spin on typical fantasy-tropes and the companions are pretty cool

It's okay. I mean the combat is fun but at the same time all the rpg mechanics are pretty much a facade, sincerely the least depth of any rpg I've ever played simply because there are so little options/perks to choose from... No options almost at all really, and because of that virtually no replayability, but on the hardest difficulty the gameplay is fun it just gets samey... I also like the war table stuff. If your getting it for 10-15$ give it a shot.

god I hated inquisition so much that I'm surprised I slogged through as much as I did. I should've stopped after seeing sera's ugly ass, or after seeing how bad the character creation was
