Most people are just miffed over Donte being paraded around as "the new Dante" and clearly just intended to market towards whiny emo kids. Which is a bit funny, since you wanted to ignore the story in the DMC games anyways. I was more disappointed that it wasn't as focused and challenging as the first four, but that's just a reason to forget about DmC.
