So far, the general consensus on Vzr is positive, every one is just saying it needs a killer app. Games like EVE Valkyrie and Hawken come close to giving a truly awesomr exp, and are a preview of what's to come.
HMDs are here to stay since they will penetrate other industries, that revenue will further allow the tech to grow and get better res screens and polish the software.
FPS games with omni treads, and cockpit sims with joysticks will be the shit, also, first Person RPGs.
In 2018, Samsung is launching 11k res mobile screens, you can bet those will be used for VR. Sony will also help make VR more mainstream in gaming by launching a wide variety of games with it.
FOVO is mass producing their headsets for internet cafes across S.Korea and Japan, and you can bet Japanese arcades in Akihibara will make use of VR tech.
It'll still be a while before it's a truly worthwhile exp for the gaming consumer imo, but its definitely not a flop, and it's definitely here to stay.
ill enjoy mine for about a week then throw it in the trash.
