Cause no matter what anyone says the n64 sucks. And this is from someone who went from playing NES to N64 to PS to GameCube.
Smash on the 64 was definitely fun and exciting but once melee came out there was almost no reason to play 64. I remember in college someone breaking it out, playing it and just being like go away. And that's after winning almost every match

On top of this, it's safe to say that the only character in 64's roster that can be considered fluff is Jiggs, as everyone else is the main character of their game of origin, or in Luigi's case mentioned in the title. Meanwhile the amount of shitstorms caused over Brawl and Smash 4 are a testament to how asinine the decisions behind the roster have gotten.

I never played Counter Strike 1.6 but, going from Smash Bros to Melee, I think I can understand their vague complaints about the sequel not 'feeling' right.
I like the weightiness of everything in Smash 64, I like the slower moving characters, I like the simple and clean visuals.
We played a lot of both the 64 and GC iterations in my house growing up but we always went back to Smash 64 because it was more fun. We even had 2 copies for reasons I forget.

The one thing I wished they put back in Smash 4 was the bonus points at the end of each stage. Finding new point titles as you play was always an amazing feeling.
