Heres my theory (on the blurry letters in the summer 2016)
They spent a good amount of the year introducing news with the trailers, magazine info dumps, and a consistent and unwavering message of 2015. They hyped up the event, a hype thing in itself, by putting posters around and getting people to scan them. But about a week or so before the event, something really bad happened. My guess is with the porting of the PS4 version, but thats up for anyone to decide what they think went wrong. Some say it was story, some say they went back to the old social link system, balance was fucked, ending was unsatisfying, script or pacing sucked ass in some areas, whatever.
So they quickly edited the new trailer with what was going to be the release date, and instead put in a blank black screen that simply said summer 2016 and ps3/ps4. This was a quick edit, as previously said, and so maybe the fade in was done and there wasnt time to comb it over and make it look neat. Nothing more than a simple graphical error. They showed this as the first thing to get it out of the way, rather than ride the whole event with things surrounding the game and have it end with summer 2016.

No way there will be a vita successor. If they do end up porting p5 to the vita, it would have to be another downgrade. P4G clocks in at like 3.3 gb, vitas max is 4gb for games. And its just a ps2 port. HD assets, bigger cities and more complex dungeons in both visual design and layout would eat away tons of data. Your best bet would be remote play if you want p5 on vita sadly.
