How were the BD sales when they were released? Maybe the gauged interests and didn't find it enough to continue.

I honest to god can't find the numbers right now, but I know that the BDs were limited in numbers and sold out fast on release - it fetches up to 300 dollars these days and from what I can tell sells at that high.
I wonder if they looked at the rune DVDs not selling and that's why they pulled out of North America and then let the series die off in Japan. One episode per DVD is disgusting.
