Avoid AMD.
AMD videocards are cheap but they will be more expensive later on, most gimmicks are also designed only for Nvidia cards so get Nvidia.
Get atleast a I5.
Dont cheap out in your PSU.
Use PCPartpicker to select your build parts.

Thanks anon!
Not op, but should I keep my i5 2300 or just wait more for an upgrade? I will use it with a r9 380 or a GTX 970

It werks right now but you are reaching the point you should upgrade.
Just upgrade when you need more power, do you use your CPU at 100%? then yes, do it.
No? then why do it?

You still can keep it.
I still own an i5 2400 and I don't plan to upgrade anytime this year.
What's really the difference between AMD and Nvdia? Whats better?

AMD:
Use more energy
Cheaper
Get hotter
Better perfomance/price ratio
Nvidia:
Use less energy
More expensive
Cooler
Developers usually make games with Nvidia cards in mind
Really cool gimmicks like shadowplay

Plan ahead. Anytime I do a build I make it so I can get a good 8 to 12 years out of it. Motherboards are erverything. Don't be afraid to spend money. Investing in good parts is something that will be worth it in the long run.

whatever you do, don't get an AMD CPU.
Deneb was probably the last good chip that AMD had.

This.

You forgot the nuclear power plant that AMD needs.
