Are these video games?
They're overpriced.

No
>>333541107
Visual novels are a type of video game, yes. No idea how interactive the Muv-luv games are in particular though.
The question is, are they any good? Only answers from people who've actually played them please.

Far superior compared to fateshit, thats for sure at least.
Fukken sick!
More porn on Steam! Yaaaaaay!
Muv Luv is not completely working on any windows that came after XP (random crashes, crashes during endings and particular parts)
The game requires also the PC's locale to be set on japanese, HF locale won't work.
Also shit tier VN (alternative isn't good either)
So what the fuck?
>>333541107
Did you know that steam sells movies?
muv-luv is the greatest vn ever
>>333544006
I'd assume that's why they are on greenlight right now.
>playing VN's on the computer when there is a portable alternative
>>333544006
Steam versions will work on new Windows versions, this has been confirmed many times already
Also, your Alternative hate is hilarious. I keep seeing one anon being mad about it in every vn thread here where Muv-Luv is mentioned. Extra best, am I right?
>>333544546
I never post on VN threads on /v/ anon, i don't know what you're talking about.
And if they fix all of the fucking crashes i will gladly read all of MuvLuv's lore, since it was litterally impossible for me
CHOMP
>you should read muv luv
>the first one's shit though
>it gets good after 50 hours

>tfw lacrosse
>>333544827
Mistook you for someone else then. Sorry about that.
Well, if they do Steam port right, there shouldnt be problems. Extra is getting beta release soon, so that should tell how it works for even Win 10, if anyone is crazy enough to use that.
>>333546684
You will need to pay to use the beta?
>>333547189
If you were KS backer, you get Steam key for it. I don't know how much you had to back it to receive one though.
>>333541763
Each subsequent game has less and less interaction, but you won't care
I honestly can't recommend the series enough, though the lacrosse is a drag and Extra isn't indicative of the tone of the rest of the trilogy.
I'm a sucker for genre-shifts though, so it really appealed to me
>>333548101
I hated Extra first, but without it Unlimited and Alternative wouldnt have felt like they did. Despair and all that shit. Getting known to characters in some peaceful world first did its job very well.
>>333548546
Extra had massive amounts of foreshadowing too, replaying it blew my mindthat fucking shoe
It's completely necessary to go through it, but the lacrosse was pretty dull
>>333548730
I havent replayed it yet. I read these years ago, so re-reading Extra should be fun now. Cant wait for that Altered Fable too.
And everyone seems to hate lacrosse.
