Analog emulation on trackpad is better for sharper turns. Straight trackpad mouse even better.
Menu navigation is nice and writing isn't as much of chore because of them. Menu selection is also cool.

The circle pads are awesome! I use it for my HTPC and it works great on the desktop! Much much better and more comfortable to use then my bluetooth keyboard (except that you cant type but it's no biggie since I rarely do it on my HTPC).
I haven't used the left pad for any ingame though, it feels slightly weird but you can probably get used to it.
They could improve it somewhat and I prefer my 360 controller (but the D-pad sucks ass!) for games although I never use it anymore because I don't want to switch between them.

The only shooter I had fun using this with was Painkiller. It's pretty fun for sidescrollers and decent enough for twin stick shooters.
D-pad kinda sucks, and the right pad is assy when it's trying to output a joystick as a mouse. I'll still use a DS4 for Souls and m+k for anything else.
Most fun I had was being able to play Worms with five people and passing the controller.

How in the literal fuck do you use the Steam Controller? Tried it on KOTOR 1 and I couldn't even get past the character customization screen because the controller refused to recognize I had chosen a feat already.
