It's sad, really. I remember it was amazing back in 2002-2003. After that, in like 2004, it went downhill with the TechTV merger, and later when they started airing shit like Cops re-runs and basically became a Spike TV clone. It's completely dead now.

G4 was literally the Andrew Dobson of television: acting like he was awesome when he didn't know fuck all about what he was doing, while blasting off on anyone who disagreed with their opinions or how they operated.
The Nintendo hate was spectacular--accusing a whole base of consumers of being babies while delivering the most juvenile insults possible. No one will miss them.
It never was good. It was just better than watching some soap opera in the middle of the day or other crappy daytime shows that wasnt the Simpsons or WWF.

G4 was never good. The tech tv to G4 crossover is the best example of "something for genuine nerds" being appropriated by the "LOL I'M SUCH A GEEK I PLAY HALO XD" phenomenon that I can think of. I see people posting that retarded picture that implies it all went wrong in 2007 because most of /v/ was born in the early 90s, so that's around the time they became teenagers. But it's been happening for a long time. Gaming was already mainstream by the early 2000s.
