If Hollywood were to start taking video game movies seriously and actually try to make good video game adaptations like the current superhero movie boom, which video games would you like to see adapted?

And I mean, any videogame adaption not done by Uwe Boll is fine. That includes Street Fighter, DOOM, Mortal Kombat. Corny popcorn flicks. Not sure what the fuck people expect out of a fucking videogame adaption.

None, honestly. Stories in video games suck because they exist to justify and contextualize gameplay. The only candidates I can think of are games that are basically already movies, like MGS or The Last of Us.

As for RE, the only irredeemable one was Extinction due to the director's fucking mary sue donut steel being in the limelight.
Otherwise, Retribution had fucking frozen zombie nazis fighting Leon Kennedy. Afterlife had Luther West and the benefit of being a Dawn of the Dead ripoff, and Apocalypse/original were legit enjoyable.

You want to talk about the single worst thing in adaptations? Charm. There is never a single kooky thing that survives from videogame sources into Adaptations with appropriate levity. I mean that's even a miracle if they get into the movies. No one in Resident Evil flicks reference Queen songs.

Make it a short movie, make sure the director actually knows how to make a movie with little dialogue.
Don't use Known western actors, if possible try to get actual asians. Don't do kids, try young teens. Get a stunt double that's an actual kid to make all the monsters look really big.

Why would you want film adaptions of video games unless their about the extended universe of the games?
We're at a point where their capable of sharing it's own story at the ability any movie can and even more because the player can take part in the actions and consequence.
Unless it's a movie adaption about how little timmy blew his fucking leg off and the ancient evil came out of his leg so the chosen one has to get up to fight him and then it ends for the game to wrap up.
