Didn't see anything with costumes. You're right about it being just one planet. The final dungeon is in space. You can beat it in 20 hours if you skip optional stuff. I finished it in 38 hours but that's with doing dozens of side quests, almost every private action scene, one bonus dungeon, and tons of just fucking around.

Completely disagree. SO1, SO2 and SO3 are among the better JRPGs for their respective consoles. SO4 had issues, especially the English version, but was still fun. SO5 is the worst of the series by far.

This shouldn't be that surprising. The majority of SO1 and 2 take place on a single planet. Not sure about 3 and 4 since I haven't played either.
That's always been my main complaint about SO honestly. They forego the unique setting and just drop you on generic JRPG planet #576 for most of the game.

There are individual character cutscenes based on affinity levels. It's similar to SO4. There are a lot of PA's actually, some between characters, and some that are really funny.

It's a cluster fuck, honestly. Especially with battles happening right on the map. If you had nice large separate fields like in SO4 or even SO3, it would be better. Also the AI is kind of ass.

I didn't find any coliseum. Item creation if pretty deep, as well as party skills. That's the main "minigame" so to speak.
I haven't seen all the endings. I got one with Fidel and Miki where she basically says to him "I want to be your wife!" and Fidel is just autistic and doesn't pick up on it. Kind of sad. Battle trophies are as bad / good as SO3.
