Now I know someone can go through the list and call all those games shit, but all I'm saying with this post is that there were enough games already out that I knew I wanted on it before I bought it. Never buy a console hoping the future makes it worth it.
Then Xenoblade, Smash (DLC), Splatoon, Mario Maker, and Hyrule Warriors were all games I wasn't counting on but was more than happy with when I bought them. W101 was a total surprise and if it wasn't for Bayo 2 and Ninja GaidenIIit'd be my favorite beat em up. Right now I'm really looking forward to Star Fox too, game looks fun. I even picked up ZombiU and Darksiders II used and enjoyed them for what I paid. I got my first Guitar Hero in years as a Christmas present and even that's pretty fun.

Had a few good games but it's basically dead now. I'm not at all interested in Star Fox and Zelda U will probably be better on NX, so my last Wii U game was essentially Xeno X which I didn't even care for
DKCTF, Bayo 2 and MK8 were great fun but it's not like I can play the same 3 games for an entire generation
I think its the best console this gen so far and i own everything bar xbone. Its definitely not an amazing console but its decent enough with its current lineup of quality exclusives.

like playing online with good players actually giving me a challenge
going to play through the bayonettas next, really nice to play 1 with a good framerate since I played the ps3 version, never played wind waker or twilight princess so looking to get those soon too
I bought the mario maker bundle so I have that on the HDD which I pick up every now and again to work on some levels and play others
i find if I come back to a level I'm working on later I get fresh new ideas

Look, I agree with everything you're saying but there was not one time that Amiibo's have locked something even remotely similar to "DLC" except for the Wolf Link Amiibo, which from what I hear comes with the game.

Anon, there are already systems that aren't messes. Three, in fact. PC, Xbox, and PS. I honestly feel like Nintendo's floundering about with gimmicks keeps the industry fresh in some ways. The touch pad works fucking fantastically on many games, even if it's little more than a glorified menu or map on others.
Splatoon worked surprisingly well with the Gyro component, Nintendoland is STILL a fun party game, I enjoyed W101 and Bayo1/2 immensely, Hyrule Warriors was way better than it had any right to be, MH3U for the Wii U was the definitive version of that entry, the Director's Cut of Deus Ex: Human Revolution ran... surprisingly well. Better than my old toaster could handle at any rate, and I enjoyed using the touchpad for the Pocket Secretaries, hacking, inventory management, writing on the map, etc. Xenoblade X is fucking fantastic (even if not as good as it could have been), Star Fox Zero looks fantastic, I haven't fucking touched Mario Maker but I have no doubt my nephews adore it.

First of all, it's $12. That's a higher end fast food meal. A movie ticket is about $11 with tax where I live. How much does one meal or a single viewing of a movie entertain you compared to 16 courses (half a game's worth) of Mario Kart? I'll make that trade any day. It's not $72 for all of Mario Kart 8, it's $12 for a whole other half more of a game you own.
Second, there's no newer Mario Kart or even similar game that'd replace Mario Kart. I really hate the idea of depreciation based on time alone and not on competition. Mario Kart is worth less when there's something comparable that does something better. Sometimes a game sucks so it drops in price, sometimes it gets replaced with a hotter title. Mario Kart is still the most popular racing game and kart racer on wii u, obviously, but even non-wii u owners know they need to come to Nintendo to scratch that kart racer itch.

But then the PS4k rumor was corroborated and Sony didn't deny it (which they would otherwise people will stop buying as many PS4s). It's real. And it means Sony knows normies will buy consoles based on just what is out currently, the same yearly AAA trash as proliferated all over the PS360. By the time there are say 4 good PS4 games it'll be time for the PS5 and you'll be SOL
