Souls is amazing at openings though. Whether or not you believe the lore is actually 'laid out' in the game, the opening definitely lays out lots of possibilities. Honestly one of the only recent 'game openings' that I really care about.

Fuck. First time I saw this I've never been so hyped for a Tales game before. Got the game day 1 and...I was just not feeling it. I can't remember why but I just dropped the game after like 4 hours. I tried going back into it a couple times and it still didn't hook me.

for a child character, yes. Its more a matter that because shes a kid she cant really do much but she still winds up putting herself in danger to "try" and help others even when it seems all out hopeless.
honestly memes aside, tales in general usually good depictions of strong female characters without making them blatent propoganda, not all of them obviously cause that'd just make things weird but they usually all hold their own and honestly you could argue in most of the games the heroines drive the plot foreword while the protagonists are usually tagging along. Farah, collete, shirly, kohak, sophie, and milla pretty much are the characters the plots of their games are dependent on. Probably one of the reasons i liked tales of is they make both the protagonists and heroine relevant to the plots and when they are more or less tagging along you still see how they grow by being there
