Community is better on consoles for me. Only thing that sucks is matchmaking (idk about ranked) because it puts you in games with really bad players sometimes. I went 10,2,6 and my team was literally a combined kill score of 3.

Does Heroes of Newerth even exist anymore?
I actually paid for that one in beta and played it quite a lot. In my opinion, it was superior to DOTA2 even when that came out. It had a pretty good take on the similar hero set and they did a good job introducing new ones, including ones that used mechanics that don't even exist in dota - like vector skills (Chipper's Ult). I liked that you could actually vote people out of the game. Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised to learn it was fully dead in comparison now. Last I heard a year or two ago they were trying to make some successor MOBA that would fix a lot of the 'problems' with the genre.

I dropped like 300 hours into it since i wanted to stay away from dota for a while and it's fucking garbage. 90% of gods have some shitty line nuke, wards will literally tell you when someone is in their vision so you dont even need to have map awareness, gods are restricted to buying items from the different damage type, so if you draft a magic god, you cant buy physical damage items, and vise versa

The games themselves are incredibly fun and unique, but because it's a team based game where teamwork is actually vitally important, and the fact that the vast majority of people who play video games suck donkey dick at them, as well as the fact they're free, attracts the worst of humanity to play them.

League and Dota are very similar, anyone who disagrees is just being contrarion.
However, objectively, Dota is more ambitious in its item, hero and ability diversity and has a much greater learning curve, also due to the differing, more complex mechanics.
I don't think that necessarily makes one easier than the other to master, since League's emphasis on skillshots adds a level of gameplay with no real skillcap.
Like I said, I personally couldn't fathom playing a game without all the champions or runes or whatever and trying to justify it to myself.
If that kind of shit went within ten feet of the dota fanbase, there would be an explosion on the internet. League fans have kind of grown complacent, IMO. That's why there's the constant arrogance from dota fans; the true successor of the genre-creating game, it's harder, and the company that makes it is perceived to be more fair and less greedy.
