it's actually probably harder to play offensive in melee due to having so many options to get around offensive play, shield isn't the only defensive option like shitters think
the thing that gives melee the illusion of being offense oriented is that for the most part you can get much more off of a punish in melee than you can in brawl/smash 4 and it's harder to reset to neutral in melee
