There's so many things wrong with how trans characters are put into games, from how in your face they are about it (literally no one that isnt insufferable would do this, people want to live their lives too, not everyone wants to be in your face and not everyone has some kind of jollies to get from flaunting their snowflake status, lots of us just want to live our lives and be left alone)
Not to mention it insults the person playing the game, if you cannot relate to a character on a level deeper than what gender/sex/whatever they are, then you might be messed up in the head. Part of good writing is making your character believable and relate-able, shoehorning in a bad character for the "special crowd" like you're throwing them a bone, is demeaning for everyone.
