Honestly never got the hate for homecoming. Also had a ton of easter eggs and extras. Only SH I played through more than twice.

It's different yet true to the series, unlike Silent Bullshit Homecoming. Treat it more like an adventure game and less like a "traditional" SH game and you'll find a lot to like in it, especially if you play through it at least twice with different answers to the Kaufmann questions.

Homecoming is one of my favorite silent hills , I thought it was so much better than downpour. The game nailed a whole lot on atmosphere also. I enjoyed the story and the combat felt satisfying. There are worse silent hill games, downpour and that ps vita one were shit

I wouldn't really call that a bad thing. At it's core it's still the same principle: Exploring a spooky town and uncovering a deeply personal story.
And, honestly, it's a hell of a story. Probably the best in the series aside from SH2s.
Sure it could have been scarier and really should have had better puzzles but for what it was it was pretty amazing.
I wish it was ported to PC.

Homecoming is almost as bad as downpour. At least homecoming had the decency to be short as hell. Origins is better than both but the story is a inconsistent shitpile in that too.

You can see where the water stops to a sharp edge, it also looks like shit. The incredible lack of fog showing unfinished things that weren't meant to be seen is a common thing in the HD port.

The camera work, dialogues and character animations just aren't up to par with the rest of the series, HC is shot like a generic action/horror flick, just compare this to any scene from SH2 and you will understand the difference.
