For all the shit that gets flung their way, they generally use solid premises for their arguments, even if the conclusion is very questionable.
The only two matches where the premises were straight up completely unfounded were Toph vs Gaara and Yang vs Tifa.

Both are just faulty premises entirely. There's no evidence to suggest the first, and the second had absolutely no evidence to support it at the time and was a no limits fallacy (and has since been demonstrated to be wrong in universe anyways). Not to say Toph and Yang wouldn't have won anyways, I really don't know, but their main arguments for them winning were faulty.
Most of the other controversial ones are at least based on solid premises. Even Kirby vs. Buu (Kirby's lightspeed feat requires liberal interpretation of a specific manual and the anime, but sakurai's said the anime's canon...).
