GTA3 had more to do post plot than Watch Dogs has a decade later. So no it's far from being the best. Also boring city and I don't care if that's how the real HK is.

I played it several years ago for 3 or 4 hours and got kind of bored because I couldnt find any guns. The hand to hand combat was kind of boring in my opinion. Thinking of trying it again. I still have it on Steam.

The biggest problem with this game is that there are missions where you go on dates with girls and then they disappear and you never see them again. You don't even fuck them.

I like the novelty of a Hong Kong crime setting and the emphasis on fist fighting and brawls. The driving and shooting were just awful though
I feel like a sequel would have a lot of potential, assuming they fix those problems and make the actual fighting more difficult than spamming counters.

I really liked the game and the radio stations were a million times better than GtaV´s (especially loved daptone)
The only thing I didn´t like about the game was the forced gunplay towards the end which fortunately there wasn´t a whole lot of.

As someone who was horned in HK, I like it even though the map is not 100% accurate at all (close enough to remind me of home). Wish they expend to Kowloon where all the actual triad members are.

Japan isn't obsessed with anime, anime is viewed as a degenerate hobby in Japan and only young kids and male/female otaku is the target audience.

I don't know about Hong Kong or China becoming the next superpower. I've been to Japan a few times however.
I liked it, but I wish it had more hand to hand fight and less gunfight, the infinite slow motion made them way too easy.

The thing got lacerated like a suicide bomber: it was originally supposed to be where you chose one to date, and there were a bunch of unlockables. Really, the whole game suffered from cuts. Could have been 9/10, but it was 6.5/10 because of that.

Ok, one thing that really bothered me was the fact that I basically can't obtain a pistol in free roam/non-mission contexts without killing a cop.
Walking around with a pistol that you can unholster from the back of your pantswaist is comfy as fuck. But no, the only way to get a gun in free roam is to get the upgrade that lets you get a shotgun from the police cars, which isn't anywhere near as comfy, and since you can't holster it you inadvertently cause gun fights.
I enjoyed it. Mostly because it was like playing Rush Hour 2 - The Movie - The videogame.

This can be annoying when you want to just drive around tiwn, but in a story mode they wanted you to fight with everyone, not to shoot everyone. If you think about that, then it's not a bad thing.
Played through it near release, loved it.
Went back to try and replay it a month ago, the last gen version really hasn't aged well (models and high-res texture load times)
Another single player game from the studio set in another Asian city would be pretty cool.

The game could've done with a bit more vertical movement to it to truly simulate the almost hive city nature parts of hong kong have. In general though its a tight game that feels balanced - enough plot to make it worth playing and enough minigames to keep the interest for a while.
I remember trying to bait the cops into high speed chases with tonnes of cars.
It never worked, I just sped away. I had to slow to a crawl just to amass 2 or 3 cops in pursuit.
I've cursed them a lot, but GTA level ultra-sensitive "will stop at nothing" cops are just more fun.
