Hey bros. I'm sorry for this stupid question, but you guys are the only ones I can ask this.
Thing is: I was considering buying FFVII on Steam but then it came to me I could just play it for free on a PSONE emulator.
So what's the difference? Is there anything beneficial to the player if we choose buying it on Steam?
Achievements.

nope.
In general, it's usually better to just emulate 5th gen games.
as far as i know, the one on steam is just a port of the one on the mobiles.

You can play the PC version for free too. It's called Pirating, anon.
The Steam version looks better and has a turbo feature. The translation is a bit cleaner, too. Nothing major.
PC version looks and sounds better
Thank you for the replies, guys.

Emulate the PC version using mods. Fuck Steam.

You will need a square enix account and need to be online to play the steam one
>also no turning off framerate and flying through those repetitive battles
>>333370936
I have the ps1 and ps4 versions, and emulated the ps1 version. Ps4 version looks sharper and runs smoother.

emulate ps1. You won't be playing the game for its stellar graphics. the pleasure of ff7 is in its story and characters.

torrent the pc version.
god damn every other option is stupid.
nosteam it and you get 100% optimal quality and no hassle with emulation
>>333370936
steam version is much better with better framerate and instant load times

Just emulate it- I recommend using xebra emulator. I used to play the PC version at first, but it lost my data, so fuck Square Enix's stupid DRM- emulation is a no brainer here.
>epsxe is depreciated
>mednafen is incomprehensible and has no settings on the fly

>it's too simple!
>it's too complex!
I'm afraid you can only fix this with a bullet in the brain, anon.
