Zero Suit is a neat addition because its not really a new thing since we knew Samus was a woman since the 1980s (yes there was a before 2000)
Metroid was a strong series up until 2010 with the release of Other M. Fuck, the Wii Trilogy of the game is still in the 70-90 dollar range despite being 7 or so years old
I personally still have a separate save file in Zero mission for the zero suit stealth stuff because that was actually pretty damn fun

Metroid Prime 2 Echoes, Metroid Prime Hunters, Metroid Prime 3 Corruption came afterwards and were fine.
Metroid Prime Pinball and Metroid Prime Trilogy were fine too.
