We're about to have GT Sport beta within next few months. Comes with VR support and all that jazz too.

This. I had a PS3 and even thoigh i poured hours into GT5 i was rather dissapointed with it.
Ive been happy with the Forza offerings i have on my Xbox One.
GT sport/7 needs to be really good. Cause of right now i have no desire to go back.

Polyphony is indepdendent and Sony only owns a small stake in them. The and can buy their freedom if they want. If anything, Nissan would just buy them so they create onboard dash software for their cars.

French auto journalist went to visit them a month ago. Said the entire studio is fucked regarding game development. GT Sport Beta will likely be Mid-to late 2017 and they are preparing to announce a delay. The full game in 2018 while GT 7 will more than likely not be on the PS4 at all. Also the GT Sport footage Nissan showed during the GT-R 2017 launch was so fucking awful (It looked exactly like GT6) that NIssan USA decided to use Need For Speed instead to showcase it.
Sucks to see a series fall this hard but losing half your audience from GT5 to GT6 shows how badly they fucked up

Not him but the graphics were mostly awful. It was sluggish as fuck. The framerate was abysmal (It wasn't even 1080P. It was 1280x1080). Car handling on anything but premiums was terrible. Career mode was a massive grind before challenges were introduced in Spec 2.0. Load times were horrendous with up to three minutes in some cases. Tracks looked awful and the game was full of bugs.
And online barely worked for the first year of the game's life. It sold 10 million, but it was such a total trainwreck that it poisoned the IP. Game was outright terrible.
In case someone missed it: The Forza sound guy is now working for Polyphony.
So at least the cars wont sound like shit anymore.
