.
I've gone to 3 tournaments in a row without winning any games, what do
Armada or Hbox getting first seed at summit?
>mfw Hbox dominating the melee scene
>know that if i actually worked on my decent at best marth or falco i'd actually have some staying power in stateside tourneys
>keep going ganondorf because I just flat out prefer him and do better with him but know i'm only ever going to go so far with him
this is a hell of my own design
>>333364905
this is why melee beats 4
less easy for autistic robots to win
>>333365219
All he does is bair though.

>Implying the bear doesn't rest
I'm switching from Puff to Fox, wish me luck.
I wish I could main both, but I can't quickly adjust between the two.
Turn around, short-hop lasers are so good, goddamn.

I feel you mate, Samus is my main and I know the pain of character limitation all too well.
>>333364695
keep going and play friendlies. practice tech skill with 20XX. watch a shit ton of youtube guides for your character
Some quality asmr with Webs on tafotalks

I know that feel. I've sunk so many hours into Game & Watch that he's far and away my best character. His lack of good approach options and his abysmal shield are in no way made up for by his good combo game, but I'll be damned if he isn't fun as hell to play for some reason.

Tafo is a faggo
Okay, really, I don't go in these threads, but why do you refuse to use /vg/? Is smash banned or something? Why do you keep wasting board space on a general?
>>333366143
/ssbg/ exists but it's basically sm4shgeneral and any non-sm4sh talk usually gets shitposted to hell and back, moreso than the shitposts on /v/. Unless sm4sh gets its own general in name or melee gets its own general, /v/ is the best place for this.
>>333366143
>full of tripfag/namefag circlejerking
>mostly about tr4sh
>autistic beyond belief
yeah, nah. I'm fine with the occasional thread on /v/
>>333366231
Can't you just start a melee general on /vg? I mean if they can still have Katawa Shoujo one I'm sure there's space for a melee one
>>333366347
you can but it needs to be advertised first so it doesn't die on the first day
>>333366287
Except that its daily and no longer just real nigga hours
>play Marth
>go to university local
>Tie 1-1 with better than me Fox
>he switches to Sheik and I lose
>get matched against a Falco
>get shined-dair'd a billion times like an idiot
>go 0-2 for the 780000th time
I literally have no clue how to fight characters not named Fox, and even then way better players just win anyways
why am I so bad
>practicing against level 9 peach
this is some Armada level bullshit
asides the occasional Peach Bomber off the side of the stage and just fucking up the recovery, this is absurd
I never expected the AI to Dair to Nair like this
i know the frame perfect grabs and jabs are pretty typical of level 9 but christ.

I can't really relate to that; I main Link, who sucks, and I'm terrible myself, but I don't feel like I'm being held back by the character at all; there's still tons of room for me to improve to bring out Link's full potential. I guess you should feel glad that you've got so good at your characters that they're actually holding you back.
Who's soul will he steal next?
Why does the dot stop so much shitposting?
Whats the secret to melee?
When I go in I keep hitting shield and getting punished for it or if I don't go in someone else wrecks me.

Play friendlies, try netplay, practice, study videos

because there's no attempt at bait. It's just for general discussion. If he wanted to bait some responses he'd post "sm4sh is the most balanced game with the most diverse roster" or something stupid.
>>333368682
Never practice against anything higher than lvl 4 (some say 6). It will give you bad mindgames etc because of the cpu doing everything perfectly

Learn your movement options, how to apply them with good spacing, and how to punish your opponent's choices.
In shield specifically you have a lot of OoS options you can abuse. Aside just shield grabbing, you can do your aerials, you can up b out, you can wavedash, or with fox/falco you can shine out of shield. Basically, do what you feel is right for the situation; but, always keep your opponent guessing.
Also, you can fuck with someone's l-cancel timings by timing your shield oddly or adjusting your shield's position. Be aware of that.

Not a marth main, but here's some general tips I can think of.
With falco, the key is to not be afraid of getting lasered; because it's guaranteed. You will get hit by his peashooter regardless of what you do. You can shield it, but you'll eventually get hit. But, it doesn't matter, because what matters is keeping him far enough away that he can't capitalize on it with a stronger move. Vs falco, be aware that he has difficulty with things above him and that with your range, you can hurt him with your OoS options.
Vs Sheik, it's a spacing war and really gay.
