Playing Majora's Mask on 3DS, for the first time since probably around 2004 from the Collector's Edition Disc. In fact I haven't actually gotten into a game in months. This is like fucking crack. I'm even getting depressed that I only have one dungeon left and then the moon.
I never even got to the third dungeon as a kid because I was always running around Clock Town trying to figure out everyone's schedules and find everything to do. The upgraded notebook in the 3DS version kind of ruins that mystery but it does make it more manageable. Also, since I didn't get that far as a kid all these subplots have been unresolved for me for over ten years, so it's extra satisfying getting to see how everything turns out. I remember I never figured out to take the big bomb to the rock at the Romani Ranch, so I never got the chance to save Romani and Cremia before.
10 out of fucking 10, even though I don't think it's the best Zelda, I think it's a masterpiece in an entirely different way.

Honestly I kind of prefer it that way, every other game in the series is a complete cakewalk and I have to actively try to make it so I don't just blow away the gym leader's teams. I mean I don't expect these games to be hard or anything but I shouldn't be able to go to the gym the first time I'm in town with absolutely no grinding and destroy the leader with no challenge. Even a little kid can figure out that they have to grind a little to beat the gym.
