I recently bought my Grandmother a 2DS because she was stuck at the hospital bored out of her mind. She likes Nintendo 64, so I figured it would give her something to pass the time until she got out (she did yesterday). All it came with was the pre-loaded Mariokart version XXXX.
In short she really likes it, and I want to buy her more games. Rather than buying new games that will be used anyway I was hoping to find a 'lot' of used games, since all that matters is that they function. I am rather wary of ebay since I was fucked over there before. I like amazon, newegg, tiger direct etc, someone I can bitch to if I get ripped off. I want to get as many 'good' games as possible for a hundred-two hundred bucks or so. I don't know much about handheld games, I stopped playing games quite a while ago. I realize I could emulate/crack the handheld, and believe me if it was for me that's what I would do; but I'd rather spend the couple of hundred bucks.

definitely Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Your grandma would probably like it. It's pretty relaxing. I play it to unwind after work.
Pretty good value too. She play every day for a year and not get board because of in game holidays, events, etc.

Custom firmware is designed in a way that makes it no different to operate than the normal firmware. As long as you automatically boot into it she won't be able to tell the difference.

build quality wise it's the best flashcart still in production. if you're gonna be using it on a 3DS though, you'd be better off getting a R4i Gold 3DS RTS because the DSTWO/+ drains the DSi and 3DS battery like a motherfucker.
