ITT: signs you're in for a good time

>press q and e to lean
>>
I've never found leaning at all useful in any game that has it.
>>
>>333354239
you haven't played alien isolation or many tacticool shooters then
>>
>>333354239
It's not really too useful in FEAR since it's a fast paced action game but in games like Arma or Stalker leaning lets you not expose your entire body and can be helpful. You can also lean in MGS2-4 and while I don't think I've ever used it it might be useful to some. It's also really useful in Thief, and in Thief you can even lean forward.
>>

/v/ collectively hates it.
>>
>>333354239
It's useful in every fucking tactical FPS ever. Not leaning in games like STALKER, R6 or Red Orchestra is like saying "please fill my chest with bullets".

Also what >>333354441 said, leaning in MGS2/3 is almost game breaking.
>>
>>333354153

man that was pretty great.

Yea and if you are against any decent player you are popped in the head instantly.
>>
>>333354239
coz you're a cancerous gen of CoD shootan babies, given you some tactical shooters, you'd be pwned all over the place.
>>
>>333359261
Good RO2 players go for the center of mass as it makes almost no fucking difference, takes less time than going for the head and has more chances to hit since it's a larger target.
>>
>>333354153
More like ITT : forgotten game mechanic.
Really a shame, I love leaning in Stalker.

>>333359896
Well there's really no reason to have it in arcadey games and those make up the majority of AAA FPS. Not to mention they'd have to find a way to implement it with a controller. Even games that do have leaning do it differently and typically have it be context sensitive, like in Wolf TNO, the newer Battlefield games, and Crysis 2/3.

Dishonored had traditional leaning in 2012 and Dishonored 2 should have it too. Pretty sure EYE has leaning too but I don't really remember. And ARMA 3. So mostly PC-ish games though that's how it's always been.

I haven't played a game on consoles in forever but I imagine most games already have shit mapped to those. And moving your thumb from the analog stick to the d pad all the time must be pretty annoying. That's how MGS4 did it and it worked fine though I guess.

>Game is fun from the get-go
What do so many games have a tough time doing this? If your game is fun later on, then why can't it be fun now?

In film there's a certain rule:
>If you aren't showing the most interesting moment in this characters life, ask yourself: Why?

In videogames, this should apply:
>If what you're playing right now isn't fun, ask yourself: Why?

Doing it that way takes away your ability to aim though until you release ctrl. Having the ability to choose how much you lean is nice but not that way. System Shock let you do something similar too but it was harder to do since it was just with digital keys. Might be able to click on the leaning icon if you're not using mouselook but I never tried that.

Shit wrong model. Sorry, should have checked the side vents. Looks more like it's the 1970 Corvette Stingray LT1 Coupe.

Classic model Corvettes can go for anywhere from $40,000 to $90,000+ depending on model and condition. Much cheaper if you get a beat-up one, but then you're paying to restore it anyway. This is not the kind of car you drive around every day unless you're rich.

He's an idiot. Boomers inflate prices to retarded numbers for fully restored cars but no one really pays that much. You might find an asshole "I know what I got" but you can find them in decent shape shape for 5 give or take another 5. And that's a fair thing to consider, but in my experience, it actually makes it easier in most cases. Every game I've ever played online had a voice chat going during the game, and will generally do in-character chat in text with OOC discussion, DM descriptions of lesser importance, and socializing occurring over voice. Personally, Anon, I'd say at least give it a shot before you wave it off. I always feel kinda cringey trying to roleplay personally, but over text it's super easy; easier than voice RP for most people, I imagine.

Yeah. In 2 and 3 you go into first person and you use the shoulder buttons. Pressing both of them would make you stand on your toes. In 4 you used the d pad to lean. It was pretty popular to use in the multiplayer to make you harder to hit. I don't think you can in V though for some reason. I think it also wasn't in PW but that makes sense since it's a mobile game.
