I'm extremely hyped for Rage Burst and Ressurection getting released in the States, and I plan to buy the PC release immediately after it comes out.
I've never played God Eater, but from what I can tell its like a faster more action oriented Monster Hunter, something sort of akin to playing Freedom Wars or Phantasy Star Online 2, only with a really badass aesthetic. If that's what it is, I'm ready.
That said, if Resurrection and Rage Burst get released seperately, would I be better off starting with Resurrection or is the gameplay rather weak and date in comparison to Rage Burst?

I've played PSO2, MH4U, and Freedom Wars and out of those I thought MH4U was the worst since you're locked into your attacks for significant periods of time and the combat speed is really slow. I also hate the lack of a useful highly usable lock-on mechanic.

But if you wanted a hunting game like Monster Hunter then I don't see how Soul Sacrifice would be something you'd like. Wouldn't something like Toukiden be more to a person's liking in this case?

That's why I replied to those 2 posts specifically where Monster Hunter was favorable to them. Using your example, if you held Street Fighter to the highest standard of fighting games then you'd be more partial to most conventional 2D fighters. But if you compared Smash Bros to SF it's radically different than most 2D fighters and wouldn't seem ideal for a Street Fighter type game. Sure you can still like Smash Bros on its own merits, but if you thought of it as a Street Fighter game you probably wouldn't like it.

Been playing Project X Zone 2 and that's the only place I've ever dealt with them but Soma and Alisa seem to be the most powerful unit on my team so they're alright by me. Alisa seems really hot but her personality comes off as a bit boring beside all the other characters in this game.

I don't know what I think about releasing two games at once like that. Wouldn't this be a similar situation to like releasing Monster Hunter 3 and Monster Hunter 4 at the same time? There'd be basically no reason to play 3 over 4 in that case. Is the GE story somehow different enough to justify the hunting game grind and older mechanics before going into GE2?
I've never played any of the GE games or pxz1, but I've been playing pxz2 and while it probably isn't really an accurate portrayal of the characters I have to say that I don't really like them much. Ciel and Nana seem to be pretty one-note with the Oden sandwich jokes over and over again, and Alisa seems like she's just kind of there to be the hot girl. Which probably works in a smaller cast but not so much in a huge crossover game like pxz.

That's why many people like Monster Hunter though. Most weapons are slow but deliberate meaning you have to find the right moment to land precise strikes on weak points or else you're going to eat it. I can appreciate a faster, more action oriented game, but then I'd rather just play something like Devil May Cry.
