1 feels like a half-hearted compromise between actiony RE and classic RE. It doesn't really do either well since the shooting feels like shit and there's no real exploration or puzzles. It only really works as a 3DS tech demo.

Resident Evil: Director's Cut, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3 are best on PS1 so you could easily emulate those.
Resident Evil: Code Veronica is on DC, PS2 and GC. If you can, try and get it on the PS3 or 360 for the HD versions, but if you can, emulate the GC version

I can't go back to the red laser bullshit. I wish I could but I just can't do it. After clearing RE4Wii more than 20 times with those amazing controls, I can't go back to using a standard controller for this type of game, it always feels too slow.
