This and SMB2 are the only Mario games I couldn't get into.

NSMB2 is bland, but it's good for casual fun. And the coin gimmick is actually kind of cool, seeing hundreds of coins on the screen at once.
Also, I really loved Mario 3D Land and Mario 3D World. I had been yearning for a linear 3D Mario since Super Mario Sunshine's linear stages.
