Different generals have different problems.
FF14, WoWg and most weebgames (along with TF2G for some reason) have a severe avatarfagging problem
TeSG and FoG have "my ENB is better than yours" shitposting and some waifu wars.
CSGOG is e-gambling general.
Of the generals I've frequented that I'd say are actually GOOD, the list includes Stalker General, Mount and Blade General and that's about it

And we can go through the /v/ catalog and find 40 ruggarel style posts, thick posts, gay fucking and blacked posts etc. Good games on /vg/ tend to have sane generals, shit games have shit generals. If i want vita advice or a list of upcoming games, vitagen has that covered. DDG or DSG both mostly stayed away from waifu talk. Im sure theres others in that vein. At least half the thread isnt wasted on mastur race shittery or goldface memes or shit game desu posts.

Generals are inherently bad by their very nature.
Creating /vg/ as a dedicated zone to keep away the idiots (idiots who should probably just go browse some vbulletin forum instead of an imageboard like 4chan) was the best thing moot has ever done for /v/. Sometimes I wish an entire separate 4chan subdomain could be dedicated to generals and their bullshit. Sort of a site-wide /vg/.

Absolutely this. It's definitely one of the worst boards on 4chan. /vg/ is a containment board on the same level as /mlp/. No moderation and the same 10 circlejerkers posting all day means the threads just go to shit and nobody ever talks about the game. The worst one (in my opinion, and the one I have most experience with) is Kerbal Space Program general. The only good generals are Stalker and Mount & Blade.
