Admitedly, DaS1 suck on the PC. Get Dsfix and a controller. There are some games that where designed to be played with a controller and in those cases a kb+m setup just won't do.
If you really don't want to use a controller at least try DaS2 instead. The game isn't quite as good as the original, but the port is fucking amazing and the kb+m controls are better.
And how the fuck can you be hyped for DaS3 without having played the other ones anyway
