It's funny because the coles played more differently than the clones in Smash. Plus the smash clones were just going to be costumes anyways, but they decided to make them character slots at the last minute. Also both games had really neat stages, and some shitty ones. Its because Devil's Third is a Nintendo IP, at least the single player is. If not why didn't they just release the single player on PC as well for shits and giggles? Valhalla must have some sort of agreement with Nintendo over the multi, but even then I still need to see the release intro screen for Devil's Third Online.
As for Bayonetta 2, you're both fucking dense. Nintendo funded Bayo2 and they own the character design and story of the game. While Sega still retains rights to Bayonetta as a character and the overall IP, its a weird scenario that doesn't really have many comparative examples.
