i got the golden hero armor at around 200 hours and dark matter at 250 mainly because launchers took so long
sadly the cod pc community is dead, TDM is cancer so if you don't like domination there's not much point in playing

I'm 160 hours in and for specialists I only have Prophet with Glitch and Seraph with that bullshit ability that doesn't even help killing people left. The actual gold/hero unlock tasks seem super easy and doable for most specialist weapons.
Still working on guns though and getting Dark Matter seems a whole lot harder. Already done with SMGs because they are fun as fuck, then did ARs, followed by LMGs but I had to play super passive with those and wouldn't have gotten anything done without a few rounds against dumb noobs who just ran into me so I could farm headshots and kill streaks. Working my way through sniper rifles right now but I suck at camping as it dulls my mind and I stop paying attention to my environment and get tunnel vision. I'm not good enough to roam and reliably hit people with snipers either.
Will do shotguns last because I fucking hate them and their lousy engagement range. Probably have to camp in corners to get anything done. For me only the Haymaker works because it's a ridiculous weapon and probably needs a nerf.
Knife first seemed impossible but I had luck facing bad players again. Launchers on the other hand piss me off big time and I think I'll need to play with friends to make sure I can get fed launcher kills when I need them. It's too circumstancial and doesn't rely on skill but rather on luck as your own team and the enemy team need to perfectly play along to even create the situation in which you can farm with the launcher.

cod4 had a great competitive community years after release and MW2 still had a big casual community, it kinda started dying out with Black Ops, Ghost and AW were the last nails
