Mirror's Edge with a shield
2 stances: shield drawn and shieldless. Shield drawn gives you the ability to block/reflect ranged attacks and you get a ranged attack of your own with Shield Throw. You can also punch and shit but not as well as when your shield is away. Shieldless puts the shield on your back. You can still block things by facing your back to them but generally this mode focuses on crushing your enemies with hand-to-hand and maximizing acrobatics and agility.
The shield is the only weapon you keep with you at all times but you can pick up enemy guns and knives to use against them.
Game is a fast-paced brawler with some light parkour. Maybe one or two on-rails segments with a motorcycle.

A daredevil game loosely based off the netflix series would be good with Arkham like combat.
The mini map would make sense with Matt being able to hear heartbeats and people coming close, then make the ninja enemies that can hide their heartbeats later game enemies. Maybe put playable electra who actually kills in combat and FPS/3PS segments as Punisher.
Hell they could even go as far to do Iron Fist Luke Cage and Jessica Jones in a series of arkham veined games.

How the fuck did they get movement so right in Spider-Man 2? The rest of the game is good, but definitely not great, but the web swinging is actually the most fun, tight, responsive locomotion I have ever experienced in a game.

It's a first person shooters where you have a shield throwing and blocking mechanic at all times. Cap also gets to wield ganguns, shotguns and SMGs with his free hand. Set in WW2. You get to be the coolest dude around and stomp Nazi ass. Hydra subplot and final boss fight with Red Skull go without saying.

Shield mechanic ideas:
As you begin to throw a shield, camera goes over the shoulder and slow motion, similar to the move select wheel in God Hand. There will be a track line (similar to grenade arc track lines) that show how it will ricochet, allowing you to potentially richochet the shield off multiple enemies like billiard balls.
The shield throw can also be used as a long distance parry/canceling move, similar to how the gun is used in Bloodborne.
All in all I would want a lot of focus on stealth, with enough combos and options if things to become a fight, similar to most action games like Dragon's Dogma.

PSP version of the first game had Black Widow and a few other characters not found playable in any other version, without hacking anyway. PS2, and I'm assuming PSP as well, versions of 2 had some characters not playable in the seventh gen versions of the game.

Think Godhand, but instead of a godhand, you have a shield. Lots of customizable combos where the best way to win a fight is to never give the enemy breathing room. The shield is really strong against mooks but certain enemies and bosses will fuck you up if you try to abuse it as a weapon, which leads to increasingly aggressive and defensive uses of the shield depending on the enemy.
Maybe try and mix that with MGS stealth? I dunno how well that would work out though, since why stealth if you can just beat them up.
